Commerce & Athens: Where to Stay and Explore

Commerce, GA is a charming small town located just off a main interstate highway in Georgia, with an outlet mall where you can enjoy some shopping. Commerce hotels are only about a 5-minute drive from our wedding venue, making it a convenient choice for accommodations. While the town itself is quieter, it’s a great option if you prefer a shorter commute.

Athens, GA on the other hand, is a small but vibrant southern city and a wonderful local alternative with more options for dining, entertainment, and nightlife. Located about 23 minutes from our venue, Athens is known for its lively downtown scene surrounding the University of Georgia, where you'll find restaurants and bars. It’s ideal if you're looking to explore, unwind, and enjoy the college-town energy. For added convenience, Uber rides are available between Athens and the venue, and we’re organizing an Uber WhatsApp group for those interested in ride-sharing to reduce costs. Feel free to join and coordinate rides with other guests! We are adding hotel recommendations for both towns.

Airport Info and Transportation:

Atlanta Airport (ATL): Located about 1 hour & a half from the venue in Commerce, ATL is the most accessible major airport option. If you’re staying in Athens, Groome Transportation offers a shuttle service from ATL to Athens. More information on Groome can be found here. From Athens, you can take a quick Uber to Commerce.

Greenville-Spartanburg Airport (GSP): Although smaller and sometimes pricier, Greenville-Spartanburg Airport is roughly an hour closer to Commerce. However, there’s no shuttle service to the area, so renting a car is recommended if you choose to fly into GSP.
